本教材的編寫根據現代化職業教育指導思想，以
促進護士職業行動能力發展為目標，設計基於護理工
作過程的情境式教學模式，以完成臨床護理交流任務
為載體，將西方文化背景下的健康與疾病、關懷與實
踐、信仰與準則等呈現出來，以培養和提高學生的跨
文化護理能力。
徐紅莉、楊桂榮主編的《涉外護理英語》是護理
專業學生為提高英語應用能力，培養跨文化護理能力
的職業拓展課程。通過本課程的學習，學生能夠用英
語與病人進行有效交流並完成護理任務，懂得與西方
病人打交道的交流技巧與原則，掌握與完成任務有關
的醫學詞彙與表達方式，提高跨文化護理能力，以適
應涉外護理工作的實踐需要。
本教材內容根據病人從入院到出院的過程設計學
習情境，共分為八個學習情境：病人入院護理、標本
采集、給藥護理、靜脈注射護理、術前護理、術後護
理、傷口護理和病人出院護理。每個學習情境整合出
典型的交流任務，將語言技能的訓練和對西方護理實
踐的理解結合起來。每個學習單元包括單元工作任務
描述與護士職責、單元中典型工作任務及其描述、完
成任務所需要的部分背景知識、護士與患者，護士與
同行，護士與醫生之間的交流技巧、完成工作任務所
需要的醫學詞彙練習、護理工作文獻的使用、病程記
錄等醫療文書的案例等。書後附有護理專業常用護理
操作用語、常用護理用物用語和醫院部門及主要職務
用語等。
