Susan Stempleski、楊惠中等編著的《視聽說
教程（附光盤1教師手冊第2版）》每個單元由Lesson
A（Listening&Speaking）和Lesson B（Video
Course）構成。
Lesson A從第一節到第四節，詳細設計了語言點
的引入、交際功能表達法的介紹、題材的介紹等等。
第一節Vocabulary Link是介紹與本節題材與交際功
能有關的詞彙和短語，第二節Listening是結合情景
與交際功能進行聽力練習，第三節Pronunciation為
語音訓練提供基本知識和示範，第四節
Speaking&Communication結合情景與交際功能進行
聽和說的綜合練習，將這些材料有機結合，在課堂裡
進行操練和仿說練習，幫助學生有效提高聽和說的能
力。教材每單元內容比較充裕，如果按計劃進行聽和
說的操練，一般學校能夠在課堂時間內完成教材內容
。但有些學校如果因為班級太大，在課堂內組織口語
練習確有困難，可以根據實際情況對內容進行選擇，
把課內時間集中在聽力練習上，重點發展學生的英語
聽解能力。對於班級裡英語程度比較好的有條件的學
生，可鼓勵他們在課外通過網絡課件進一步進行聽、
說操練，全面提高英語聽、說能力。
另外，第三版對Lesson B也做了相應的調整和補
充，目的是幫助學生在理解的基礎上切實提高英語口
語能力。第一部分Global Viewpoints是采訪不同的
人就同一題材發表觀點，受訪者來自世界各地，英語
地道、規範，語速正常，還可能帶有一點當地口音，
這些正是現實生活中可能遇到的情況。為了幫助學生
充分理解說話內容，教材設計了相應的練習提高聽解
能力，同時也增加一些產出練習。第二部分City
Living是情景喜劇短片，有人物，有情節，有故事。
但是僅僅看懂故事梗概並不是語言課的目的。英語課
的目的是幫助學生掌握其中的語言，尤其是要學習其
中的EverydayEnglish，表達交際功能的語言手段，
以及掌握談論某個題材所需的詞語，這些英語口語中
最常用的預構成語塊是會話策略的重要語言手段，學
生要結合短片中的情景、人物表情和肢體語言，充分
理解、熟練掌握。為此，教材設計了各種有效的練習
，幫助學生掌握地道的英語，加強語感，同時提高學
習語言的興趣。
