郭傑克主編的《全新版大學英語(第二版)長篇閱
讀(4教育部推薦使用大學外語類教材)》是根據《關
於大學英語四、六級考試題型調整的說明》中閱讀理
解部分新設立的長篇閱讀測試題型的要求而組織編寫
的。
從理論上講，長篇閱讀介乎精讀和快速閱讀之間
。其和精讀相似之處在於，在長篇閱讀時，要對篇章
進行多層次的理解，不僅要求了解篇章的大意，還要
求了解段落大意和句子大意；或者了解詞語在文中的
意思和用法，以達到對段落或全篇的透徹了解。和快
速閱讀相似之處在於，根據CET對閱讀理解部分的答
題要求，篇章的閱讀是在限時的條件下進行的。因此
，答題時學生需運用略讀，“全景式”地通覽全文，
又要運用尋讀技巧尋找所需要的具體信息。
