“新世紀大學英語繫列教材”是我國普通高等教育“十一五”***規劃教材，是根據***高等教育司頒發的《大學英語課程教學要求》編寫的。《視聽說教程》是繫列教材中的一個分冊，配合《綜合教程》和繫列教材中的其他教程，引導學習者實現《大學英語課程教學要求》所規定的教學目標。
本《視聽說教程(教師手冊)》為第六冊，是《視聽說教程》前五冊的後續課程。本教材配合主干教材《綜合教程》使用，全書共八個單元，每單元上課兩周。主干教材每單元一個題材，《視聽說教程》盡力做到在題材上配合《綜合教程》，所選題材都是學生所熟悉的，使學生能感覺到所學的語言貼近自己的學習和生活，有現實感和現代感，能滿足當前的和未來的交際需要，因此能夠引起學生的學習興趣。
