秦始皇，中國歷****個大一統王朝——秦王朝的開國皇帝。嬴姓，趙氏，名政，秦莊襄王之子。出生於趙國首都邯鄲（今河北省邯鄲市），公元前247年，秦王政13歲時即王位，因年幼朝政由太後和相邦呂不韋及嫪毐掌管。公元前238年（秦王政九年），秦始皇22歲時，在故都雍城舉行了國君成人加冕儀式，開始“親理朝政”，除掉呂不韋、嫪毐等人，重用李斯、尉繚，自公元前230年至前221年，先後滅韓、趙、魏、楚、燕、齊六國，39歲時完成了統一中國大業，建立起一個以漢族為主體、多民族統一的中央集權的強大**——秦朝。定都咸陽。公元前210年，秦始皇東巡途中駕崩於沙丘（今河北省邢臺市）。秦始皇認為自己的功勞勝過之前的三皇五帝，將大臣議定的尊號改為“皇帝”。秦始皇是中國歷****個使用“皇帝”稱號的君主，對中國和世界的歷史均產生了深遠而重大的影響，被明代思想家李贄譽為“千古一帝”。
