戴維·弗格森著的《羅伯特·福瓊--植物獵人（
附光盤）（英文版）》為英文版，介紹了羅伯特·福
瓊的出生、坎坷的成長經歷，以及受聘於東印度公司
之後來到中國從事貿易活動的情況。羅伯特·福瓊
（Robert Fortune，1812―1880），蘇格蘭植物學
家，曾先後四次來到遠東地區。在兩次鴉片戰爭期間
，他來到中國沿海城市尋訪植物標本，到黃山和武夷
山尋找好茶葉，並且希望打通中國內陸的貿易之路。
本書作者用近10年的時間走訪了中國浙江、江西、福
建、上海、江蘇、天津等地，細致調研了福瓊兩次鴉
片戰爭期間在中國沿海地區采集的園藝植物標本、並
將中國茶樹種植技術移植到印度的經歷。
