Steve Jobs was born on February 24, 1955, in the city of San Francisco. He showed an early interest in computers. When he was 13, he once called William Hewlett, president of Hewlett—Packard2, to ask for parts he needed for a school project. He got them, along with an offer of a summerjob at H.P.
In 1969, he met a computer whiz kid3 who had the same interests in computers: Stephen Wozniak—often known as Woz.Steve and Woz quickly became friends. At that time, Woz got the idea of making his own computer (which had only a circuit board4 at the time).Steve Jobs saw that many people were interested in his friend's brilliant5 work, and he suggested they sell the board to them.Apple Company was born.
Steve and Woz spent their first year in business assembling6 the boards in Steve's garage and trying to sell them in local computer stores. In 1977, Woz finished another new computer, Apple Ⅱ.The new computer was much more advanced7 than anything in market and thousands ofpeople bought it, Soon the company went public8.The iPod came out in 2001.This music player only size of a cigarette9 box got very popular among young people.
There are many interesting stories about Jobs.Steve's most famous home is probably his Woodside house. His Woodside house was famous for its impressive10 size and also for its total lack of furniture. He was such a perfectionist11 that he could never decide on what to buy, and ended up buying nothing.
Jobs passed away in October 2011, after fighting cancer12 for years. After that, Apple's company wrote this tribute13 to the titan:
Apple has lost a genius, and the world has lost an amazingl4 human being. Those ofus who've been fortunate15 enough to know and work with Steve lost a dear friend and a mentor16.Steve leaves behind a company that only he could have built, and his spirit17 will forever be the foundation18 of Apple.
